Candle FAQ
What wax do we use?
Broken Esscents Candle Co. scented candles are made with all natural coconut wax which is made from a sustainable easily renewable crop.
Coconut wax is considered one of the best waxes because it doesn’t produce as much soot as other types of wax ensuring a clean burn.
Coconut wax is one of the slowest burning waxes out there, which means your candle will last up to 50% longer than a traditional candle also providing a superior scent throw.
Are your candles vegan?
Coconut wax is vegan.
Do your wicks control lead?
No. Our wicks are a coreless, non-directional cotton flat braided wick with paper filament throughout.
Simmer Melts
Simmer Melts are scented pieces of wax without a wick. A wax simmer melt can give off a slight scent when cold however, they are designed to be slowly warmed when using a tart or wax warmer. A wax warmer can be electric while others use a tea light as a heating source. Simmer Melts absorb heat slower and release aromas without burning the oils within them. This allows for a nice steady release and scent throw.
How is hard wax removed from wax mover?
If your wax warmer is not on and the wax has hardened remove it by turning the warmer back on so that the wax loosens in the warmer and is faster to remove as a solid piece! Use a scraper to help with his so you don’t burn your fingers, and be sure to wipe it down with a paper towel for unwanted buildup.
Can simmer cubes be removed?
Yes you can re-use it! You can also re-use wax from previously purchased candles or melts.
How often should simmer melt be changed?
We recommend swapping out melts whenever you can no longer smell the fragrance when the warmer is on.
